Pregnancy yoga is suitable from 12 weeks gestation onwards, and right up until birth. We do gentle warm ups, modified yoga poses, breathing practises and visualisations to encourage a joyful and confident pregnancy, birth giving and postnatal period. The classes are very gentle and women are encouraged to tune into their own body and what is right for them, women are encouraged to turn their attention inwards and find a way to move or just be that feels good for them. We spend time learning about the pelvis, the bony structures and the pelvic floor and we do embodiment practises to get to know our own bodies and own pelvises and learn anything there is to learn from them and how they like to be. We also learn optimal positions for labour and birth and mindfulness strategies to build resilience and practise sitting with intense sensations. We discuss ways to feel empowered and actively participate in pregnancy and birth.

Saturday Morning pregnancy yoga classes in south london

Join me for in person pregnancy yoga every Saturday Morning at The Yoga Mela in South Nowood
“Tanya’s yoga and prenatal classes have been a fantastic resource to me over the last 6 months. She gives loads of insights about all areas of pregnancy and labour and recommended some fantastic resources, information and approaches I found really useful. The yoga classes are tailored to the changing body, with positions recommended and modified for the varying stages of pregnancy. It’s been lovely having a network facilitated through Tanya to engage with as part of the pregnancy journey- particularly during lockdown. I am entering my 40th week feeling relaxed and well informed. Thank you Tanya!”
